LETTERS of RECOMMENDATION

DEXCOM 5375 Mira Sorrento Place San Diego, California USA

To Whom It May Concern,

I’m writing to recommend Scott Mcgee for the role of Industrial Designer. Scott started as an ID Intern at Dexcom In October 2019, and this has been extended into a contracting role. Dexcom creates products for the Diabetes space. We brought Scott on after he had shown himself to have a standout attitude amongst his peers during a project that we sponsored while he was a student at Western Washington University. Our design team is tasked with a wide variety of hardware, packaging, instructional, and user experience projects, as well as technical pursuits and intellectual property development. From day one, Scott enthusiastically dove into his work and proved himself to be very helpful across the full range of these tasks. I can't emphasize enough how positive Scott's attitude is. He has a willingness to solve whatever problem is put before him. From building models, to contributing to our critiques, to getting our rendering system up and running (no small task), Scott always says "Yes", and he doesn't quit until the job is complete.

I believe Scott's great strength is thinking through the practical problem solving that is core to the craft of being a designer. Whether this is a design exercise, or a technical task, Scott will clearly think about how to come up with a solution and keep at it. Within a few weeks of him working here, I felt confident sending Scott as our design representative to a user research study in Phoenix. While there, Scott worked with Dexcom’s Human Factors team to help create solutions on the fly. These changes have been important in moving a challenging production project forward. Even though we have him working on many projects, Scott still spends his own time working on sketching, visual communication, and his design process. This has translated into a clear growth of his skills in the last few months.

I believe Scott will make a strong contribution as a member of your design team. His talent and maturity are strong, and I have never seen his positive attitude waver. Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like further information.

Sincerely,

Mark Selander Industrial Design Manager Dexcom User Experience Design mark.selander@dexcom.com

To Whom It May Concern:

Subject: Recommendation Scott McGee

I am Scott McGee's teaching professor for the last three consecutive quarters of his senior year subjects in Industrial Design.

Scott's attendance, attitude and commitment to his work has been flawless.

All assignments, regardless of complexity, have been completed on time. Throughout our time together he has made great strides in understanding the values associated with course content and is an inspirational member to his classmates. Scott has done exceptional work, integrating it into his Industrial Designs and is a source of technical leadership to others as well. He also accepted without hesitation, an extra curricular and important assignment, maintaining special communication with outside project client, Dexcom corporation's Industrial Design staff. This was done while finishing normal workload in advance of deadlines.

His willingness to accept responsibility, along with a demonstrated diligence in his work, coupled with a continuation of development of his creative talent which has been naturally occurring, will be an asset to any organization.

Sincerely

Indle King, Professor, 206-661-7008
